Avoid being a pew potato

I merely sit in church week after week, letting the messages and music slide through my ears without making an impression on my brain or my heart.

I want to change. I will actively listen to our pastor’s words. Think about how I can apply them to my life – immediately. If the pastor brings up something that I am struggling with, I’ll ask for forgiveness right away. If I am reminded of the struggles of a family member or friend, I’ll make a note to pray for that person or write a letter of encouragement. The point is: I’ll do something, anything. I’ll not just sit; I’ll try to get spiritually active.

It’s great to have your feet on the ground, but keep them moving
